About CaterDash

CaterDash is a restaurant catering marketplace that helps companies and events get great food from top restaurants. Our platform streamlines the whole catering workflow, which makes ordering faster, cheaper and more reliable than the traditional way of doing it. Between our cuisine partners, real-time logistics and the automation tools we build for restaurants, we're changing how catering gets done.

We care about our relationships with our team, our customers and our restaurant partners. It's a collaborative, people-first place to work, where you can grow your skills, build technology that matters and make a real dent in a fast-scaling startup.

About the role

You'll help build and evolve the technology that powers our marketplace: customer-facing features, restaurant partner tools, operational systems, analytics dashboards and automation. You'll also lean on modern AI tools to move faster, keep code quality high and make the team more efficient.

It's a good fit if you like solving real-world problems, want real ownership, and enjoy working across a broad technical stack.

What you'll do

Platform Development

  • Build and improve features across web services, ordering experiences, partner dashboards and internal tools.
  • Translate user and business needs into intuitive, high-quality technical solutions.
  • Write clean, scalable, well-tested code across the front end and back end.

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Integrate with external APIs for payments, logistics, data analytics and restaurant management systems.
  • Support improvements in system performance, scalability and security.
  • Contribute to dev-ops practices including CI/CD, automation and monitoring.

AI-Enhanced Development & Automation

  • Use AI tools to support ideation, prototyping, debugging and documentation.
  • Spot internal workflows worth automating, with AI or with a well-placed script.
  • Build lightweight AI-powered utilities that streamline operations or improve the customer experience.

Product Iteration

  • Take part in design and architectural discussions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and tune feature performance.
  • Gather insights from cross-functional teams to inform what we build next.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with operations, sales and marketing to understand where the workflow hurts.
  • Document system behaviour, APIs, architecture decisions and feature specs clearly.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on software development experience. Startup or marketplace experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Node.js, React, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude in your day-to-day workflow.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving and architectural thinking.
  • Familiarity with a cloud platform such as AWS or GCP is a plus.

Qualities we value

  • Curiosity, and an appetite for learning new technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort in a fast-changing, high-growth environment.
  • An ownership mindset and a willingness to take initiative.

Why CaterDash?

  • Ship product features with immediate real-world impact.
  • Learn from and work alongside experienced engineers and leaders.
  • Get exposure to full-stack development, product strategy and technical decision-making.
  • Hybrid and remote flexibility.
  • A team that genuinely likes rethinking how catering works across North America.
